Keys

The lease ended on my car last Monday and we THOUGHT we found a great new lease option that we could step right into, but of course, it didn't work out that way, so I am still car-less as we are now trying to shop around and figure out financing and all that. So that's the first reason for this title.

The second reason is much more fun - a new thing Miss Phoebe figured out. One day Karl's dad gave her his keys to play with and she walked right over to the back door and tried to put the keys in the lock! I got to see this in action when I saw her last weekend. She tried every lock she could find. Of course, she can't actually get the key into the lock, but that doesn't stop her from trying. I'm not sure what else she expects to happen, maybe that the door will open?
This door was already ajar so you can see her analyzing the situation above and then in the photo below holding the door steady while she tried the key.

I love this shot of her on tiptoe.
And a sideways video at the back door. You can hear Karl's mom talking about when she first figured it out and then at the end Karl's dad says, "Don't wait too long, Danielle!" because he didn't realize I was taking video and thought I was waiting to take a photo.

  1. That is exactly why I became a teacher. Those "a-hah" moments just never get old. It's truly a blessing to witness them.

  4. This trick was super cute for a few days and then she fell on the keys and scratched her face. Now she's not allowed to hold the keys and just stares up at the key ring and cries daily. Ah, the blessings and maledictions of parenthood :)
