Haven't used any yet. It doesn't smell like anything, so I'm guessing that means it's not ready for consumption? Not everyone knew what movie we were watching. Once they realized why I had an 8x10 of Hugh Jackman on my mantel one person told me she was thinking, "Wow, she must really like him." And another person said she was thinking, "I'm surprised Lenny lets her have that picture up there." I must say, it does look pretty good up there though. Hmmm. Ha Ha.
Here is a photo of our sort of Australia themed spread. It consisted of barbecued chicken, grilled shrimp, rice and beans, and Yellow Tail wine. I also added my Australian olive oil spray and Deidi's Koala Tea into the display for some authenticity. And of course, my mini movie poster which was also on the mantel for the rest of the evening.

Pizza and popcorn are more traditional movie night fare, but I think the themed food and movie was a great idea.
ReplyDeleteCilantro doesn't smell like much until you break/cut/bruise the leaves. Try picking one leaf and crushing it between your fingers. I bet you can smell it then.
Did my edit of your photo work?
i love your australian themed movie night. i understand if it was a little overwhelming though. maybe next time just pick one item that would go with the them of the movie ... just a thought.

I'm also thinking if other people get the idea and they can do something related it could still come together. Australia was a tricky one, but if I do an Italian movie next, I can still do pizza and that's an easier theme. I already have several others in my head.
ReplyDeleteyou sure do know how to carry out a theme! I'm very impressed. Australia was one of the best movies I've seen in a while, but I'll agree it is very long.
ReplyDeleteIf you rub one of the cilantro leaves in your fingers, you should get the full aroma (which I love). I won't start growing mine until we get back from vacation, but seeing the progress of yours has inspired me!
