Almost every year since we've been married I've had an Oscar party (I did not have one last year because Baby Phoebe was BORN on OSCAR DAY! So I didn't even plan one last year.) I love movies and Hollywood and the timing always coordinates nicely with getting last year's Christmas decorations (anything with gold and/or stars will do) on clearance.One of my favorite post-Christmas sale, Oscar-party decoration shopping places is Pier 1. Most things I get I can reuse so I don't need a lot of new stuff every year, but look what Meggy, Baby Phoebe, and I found this year.
awesome! i've always wanted to throw an oscar party, but don't seem to have enough friends who are into it. is it usually successful?

Most of my friends are not that into it either and usually leave about halfway through, which is fine as it's not over until around midnight. So I watch the end in bed. But it's a fun night with the girls and I make a new "Oscar" cocktail every year and a fun favor, like a chocolate Oscar.

ReplyDeleteAnd then we can dress Phoebe and Allen in gold outfits and hold them like oscars!!! Okay, maybe they'd be too big for that... but I got really excited at the idea...
