Oscar Party Update

I finally ordered my invitations yesterday. They are going to be fabulous, but I won't get them until probably the end of next week, so I'm about a week behind schedule, but such is life. This weekend I'm going to try to get all my Oscar Party supplies organized and in one location. I should have most everything I need except for food/booze.

Here is my biggest remaining conundrum: We decided when we moved we weren't going to get cable. We are trying to save money and also cut down on our TV watching. Plus, we do have Internet access and we can watch a lot of our shows online anyway, on our schedule. So we plugged our TV in and low and behold the ONLY network we get without an antenna or anything is ABC, the network the Oscars is on. It's pretty clear too. Of course this means I don't get any of the red carpet pre-shows, which is really a very big part of the whole thing. Also, if the digital TV conversion goes through on schedule, I guess I at least need to get a converter box OR we get basic cable.

The conversion is scheduled for Feb. 17th. The Oscars are Feb. 22nd. There is still talk of postponing the conversion, in which case I guess I do nothing because I can watch the Oscars just fine without anything.

I made the party at 7 this year, in anticipation of not being able to watch the pre-show anyway. THEN I realized Megan and Baby Phoebe are supposedly coming and that's going to be very close to her bed time. And I bought her the cutest hat and skirt to wear! Here's a photo of the hat (which she hated wearing anyway):
The skirt has the same gold belt with bow with rhinestone pin and is cream with gold brocade all over. I got them both on MAJOR clearance. So so cute. At the very least I have to take a picture of her in the outfit (Megan said she had a cream turtleneck and shoes to go with it lest you think she was going to be topless and barefoot) and that can go on next year's invitation.
