Oh, and per request a photo of the front of the house. I am open to suggestions for what else it needs. I'm divided on the whole shudders idea. I would like to put hydrangeas on either side of the front steps, or some type of tall, beachy grass. Hydrangeas would be more color and they do really well here.
And a close-up of the front door because we really like it and it looks dark in the above photo.
Also, I don't know if you can tell but the lights on either side of the door (from Ocean State Job Lot) are supposed to echo the shape of the copper roofs above the bay windows. SO MANY little decisions...

Do you have your C of O yet?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the front door!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the door, and also the copper, AND ALSO the stone chimney. All of those little details were well worth the effort! It can be hard to build a new house that has character, but yours certainly does. Its really cute!
ReplyDeleteI still vote for shudders...
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to vote against shudders...I just can't see them with the bay windows. But landscaping for sure maybe something espallied--something that will grow against the house (okay, really on the house). Or maybe something tall.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your house!
I'm for no shutters. The bay windows are pretty on their own. Can you add them to your picture with Photoshop (or some program) to "see" what it would look like to help decide?
