Today's Activities

On today's agenda - more moving, of course! I didn't sleep well last night so I was slow to get out of bed. Lenny was rather annoyed. He was very motivated, even moving pretty much his entire closet. You will also notice in the photo below, his dresser. Because of the layout of the bedroom, this was the best place we could find for it. It does make the closet look pretty snazzy though, doesn't it? Here's my side of the closet. I was not as motivated as Lenny, but I did move a suitcase full of shoes and Mom moved another suitcase full of purses that I rarely use and have yet to unpack.
Our friend, Danny, came over and helped Lenny move the rest of our beautiful bedroom set into our new bedroom, everything except for the box spring. They couldn't figure out how to get it out of my parents' house. We obviously blocked out how we got it in there in the first place. Eventually they gave up and Lenny called Marc ("the moving engineer" with the Terd hat).

Here is a photo of the sunset from our bedroom window. Still no boxspring in the bedroom.

Marc arrived and he was determined to get this thing out of the house, but every which way they tried, it got stuck. Finally they managed to squeeze it through a bedroom window. On the second floor. Here is Marc pushing the box spring out the window.

And here is Lenny waiting for the flying box spring. And catching it! I probably should have videoed the whole thing, but I think the photos are still pretty funny. So the box spring is in the house, the bed is set up, and we are going to sleep there tonight! After we watch American Idol at my parents' house because we don't have the cable hooked up. More photos of the complete bedroom set tomorrow.

  2. That looks like a very dangerous way to move a box spring, but i guess you gotta do what you gotta do

  3. I'm glad Lenny didn't fall prey to the old "box spring on the head" injury.

It feels good that you are so close to sleeping in your own house. Light a candle and enjoy a glass of wine in your new bedroom--in you new home.

  4. hahahaha, As I read Kristen's post I thought she was saying light a candle like for a blessing upon the new home...so funny! I don't know why that caught me off guard. I was like "I don't think we can do that..." hahahah, this is probably only funny to me...
