The brief period of above freezing temps turned our front yard into a lovely mixture of mud and ice. We've been walking like Baby Phoebe for days, arms out to the side for balance. But the mud added a new dimension.

Slide slide stuck.

Here is a close-up of the mud and ice. As soon as I took this picture, it reminded me of
Allen's photo. I don't think mine is quite as artsy though.

It quickly got cold again, so I finally got Lenny to build our first fire in the fireplace! Notice we still don't have the mantle up yet. All in due time.

We had our martinis and cheese and crackers in front of the fire. Then we really cooked for our first time. We had Dad over for dinner as he's been bach'ing it all week, so I guess that's why I didn't even think to take any other photos of this momentous occasion.
the fire and the martinis look fabulous! the mud/ice/snow ... not so much. definitely not jealous of that. where' your mommy?

What did you make for your first dinner in your new home?
ReplyDeleteMom was in PA all week with Nana. Our first real completely homemade dinner was our staple: chicken thighs with Lenny's "special" marinade, yellow rice, and black beans. It was fun to cook together in our new kitchen. Lenny is an excellent cook. Usually I'll start something and he'll take over. AND he does the dishes!
